Inception
Background: Nepal is globally known for its splendid natural beauty. Majestic Himalayan mountains, lush valleys, luxuriant forests, gushing rivers, crystal clear lakes, rich cultural heritages, friendly people, etc. make Nepal an incomparable country in the world. Nepal occupies only 0.09 % of total land area of the earth while its natural endowment makes Nepal one of the rarest countries in the world. In terms of bio-diversity, Nepal is the master piece of nature ever created on the Planet Earth
Nepal is endowed with natural beauty, bio-diversity and human resource. However, it is one of the least developed countries not yet being able to meet basic needs of its people. At the juncture of recent political reforms, time might have ripened for us to initiate a genuine drive to transform Nepal into economically sustainable and interdependent, culturally rich, environmentally sound and socio-politically peaceful and harmonious country. In order to realize our vision, we have come up with an alternative model of sustainable community development which fundamentally thrive on utilization of resources in Nepal thereby economically sustainable and interdependent communities are created through integrated development interventions based on locally available resources. Therefore, INDEP plans to launch projects of sustainable agricultural practice; enhancement of renewable energy; rehabilitation of community infrastructure; reformation of education system; social and economic empowerment of communities hitherto left backward from the rest of the country Thereby environmental conservation and utilization of internal resources of Nepal is achieved through peace building process. Finally, we urge GOs, INGOs, donor agencies and other well-wishers and friends of Nepal for participation in our drive towards transforming Nepal into a sustainable, prosperous, peaceful, and dignified country. Please join our drive! Introduction: Institute for Development Partnership Nepal (INDEP-Nepal) is
